Single Customer View module overview

An overview of the Single Customer View (SCV) module, explaining what data it collects, how it builds customer profiles, and how to use it for segmentation.

Written by Fatma Abid

The Single Customer View (SCV) is the foundation of Acteol Enterprise. It automatically brings together and deduplicates customer data from every touchpoint, updated daily, giving you a complete, up-to-date picture of every customer in one place.

Quality data enables you to create targeted, more personalised communications. The more relevant your communications, the more likely your customers are to engage, visit, and spend.

Data sources

The SCV automatically collects and consolidates data from multiple integration sources:

  • Table and room bookings: Customer details, pre-order, covers and guests, date and time, location, booking type and status, guest tag, booking source, room type and nights.

  • EPOS: Location, spend, date and time, products purchased, voucher redemption.

  • WiFi: Location, date and time, customer details, birthday, dwell time, Facebook likes.

  • Order and pay: Customer details, location, date and time, spend, products purchased, voucher redemption.

  • Other data touchpoints: Marketing and campaign engagement, paid social, guest feedback, website, app, click and collect, and shop.

What the SCV builds

Once data is ingested and deduplicated, the SCV surfaces four key dimensions for every customer:

  • Preferences: What customers like and how they engage.

  • Visit behaviour patterns: How often and when they visit.

  • Value: Total spend and average transaction value.

  • Engagement: Responses to campaigns and communications.

Segmentation using the data tree

The SCV filters all customer data behind nodes in the data tree. You can drag nodes to build out selections and pull high-level stats on your customers, create segments for campaign targeting, and analyse your customer base in detail.

The data tree is organised into areas such as demographics, visit behaviour, transaction values, communication preferences, and more. You can combine multiple nodes using AND, OR, and A minus B logic to build precise segments.

🤓 Tip: Use the Stats tab to cross-analyse your selections. For example, viewing the demographic breakdown of a high-value customer segment.

Customer profile

Drilling down to contact level, you can view a complete profile for each individual customer, including:

  • Summary of spend, visits, and total purchases.

  • Tags, contactability status, and communication preferences.

  • Interaction timeline showing sales leads, bookings, and campaign activity.

  • Loyalty points balance and redeemed vouchers.

  • Linked feedback tickets and sales leads.

  • Sites, interests, and preferences.

You can also use the customer profile interface to export data for a subject access request.

Key things to know

  • The SCV is a standard Acteol Enterprise module, included in all packages.

  • Customer data is updated automatically every day.

  • Selections and segments created in the SCV can be used directly in the Campaigns module for targeted sends.

  • Loyalty, voucher, feedback, and sales lead data from other modules are all visible within each customer's profile.
