Campaign Builder Evolved uses a new email editor format that is different from the legacy editor. Your existing email templates and campaigns are not automatically converted, they remain accessible and editable in the legacy editor for as long as it is available.
The quickest way to move a template into the new editor is to download it as HTML from the legacy editor and import it into a new template in Campaign Builder Evolved.
⚠️ Important: Countdown blocks are not yet supported in the new editor. If your template contains a countdown block, it will be converted to an image during import. Countdown block support is coming soon.
How templates and campaigns open
Scenario | What opens |
Existing email campaigns | Open in the new stepper, but the email design remains editable in the legacy editor. |
Existing SMS and push campaigns | Open directly in the new Campaign Builder. |
New campaigns (all channels) | Open directly in the new Campaign Builder. |
Migrate a template
Follow these steps to download a legacy email template and import it into the new editor.
Step 1: Open the legacy template
From the left-hand menu, click Campaigns.
Click Templates.
Find the template you want to migrate.
Click the ⋯ menu on the template card and select Edit design.
Step 2: Open Global Preview
In the legacy editor, click the Global Preview button in the top-right toolbar (the grid/plus icon).
🤓 Tip: Global Preview renders the full email exactly as it would appear to recipients.
Step 3: Download the HTML
In the preview window, click Download html.
Save the file somewhere easy to find.
Close the preview and close the template editor.
Step 4: Create a new template
From the Templates page, click + New Template.
Enter the template name, groups, and sender profiles.
Set Starting point to Start from scratch.
⚠️ Important: Do not select Choose from library, you must select Start from scratch for the import to work correctly.
Step 5: Import the HTML
Once the new editor loads, click Import HTML in the top toolbar.
Select the HTML file you downloaded in Step 3.
Wait a few seconds while the editor parses the file and maps each section to a content block.
📌 Note: Once the import is complete, review your template carefully before saving. Most standard content blocks (Title, Paragraph, Image, Button) are recognised and mapped automatically, but it's worth checking each section to make sure everything has come across as expected.
