The new campaign builder uses a six-step flow to guide you through campaign creation. All steps are consistent across channels, and your progress is saved as you move through each step.
To create a campaign using the new campaign builder, follow the following steps:
Click the menu icon, then click Campaigns.
Click Campaign Overview.
Click Create New Campaign then proceed with your campaign creation steps.
Step 1: Channel and name
In the first step, you choose the channel for your campaign and give it a title.
📌 Note: The campaign description field has been removed. Use the campaign title to identify campaigns internally.
Enter a campaign title.
Select your campaign channel:
Email.
SMS.
Push Notifications.
Web Push Notifications.
Custom List.
Custom Audience.
Promotion.
Click Continue.
📌 Note: The campaign channel options depend on your user access rights.
Step 2: Set-up your channels/split tests
In the second step, you configure how the campaign is categorised and set up any testing options.
Select a category: Select the select category dropdown to assign the campaign to a category. This helps with the reporting.
Campaigns by channel: If your campaign is set to have more than one channel, you will be able to choose if you want to have a customer to receive a campaign through one channel only or multiple channels.
Campaign Automated / Exclusion Rule: Automate the campaign schedule.
Split test setup: Set up different versions of your campaign content to test performance.
Test and learn / Personalised split: Send to a set percentage initially, then send the winning version to the remainder after a delay.
Click Continue.
Step 3: Choose your audience
The third step consolidates audience targeting, sender profile configuration, and send options in one place. Voucher and sender settings that previously appeared as separate steps are now grouped here as collapsible sections.
Sender profile and opt-in level: Select the relevant sender profile and opt-in level.
Campaign target: Select your destination list. Options include:
No selection: Waiting for approval from the supervisor or another team
member to create the selection.
Selection: Build your own selection or choose a saved selection
from Acteol.
API: If triggering a campaign by API calls.
External destination list.
Select any other additional option:
Send to same recipient.
Send to contacts under permissible age.
Reprocess selection.
Activate SMS failover.
Bypass business rules.
Control group setup: Send to a portion of contacts and exclude a control group.
Export fields: Select the personalisation fields to include in the campaign.
Sending details: The sending details of your campaigns are shown to your contacts:
From Name.
From Address.
Reply To.
Bypass business rule.
Activate SMS failover.
Throttle send / Exponential rate: Control your campaign send rate.
Add UTM codes: Track medium and source. UTM codes apply to new links only, not existing links.
Voucher setup: Add a voucher code to the campaign.
Click Continue.
Step 4: Create your content
This step is where you build your campaign content in the editor.
Select a template then click confirm.
📌 Note: some templates will have the New builder tag, that means that they were created using the new template builder.
Edit your desgin.
Click save & apply.
From the verification step for anything that is missing, action any last updats.
Click Continue.
Step 5: Preview
In the fifth step, you can preview your campaign before scheduling. You can:
Preview on different device sizes and in Dark or Light mode.
Download your campaign design as an HTML file.
Preview the campaign using a specific contact's personalised data.
Step 6: Schedule and send
In this last step, you set the send schedule and delivery options. You can configure:
Send date and expiry date.
Priority: Set the campaign send priority.
Repeat send / interval / send-to: Define criteria for re-sending the campaign.
Include seed list: Add a seed list to the campaign.
Weather trigger: Trigger the campaign based on weather parameters.
Active send window: Set the start and end times for the sending window (defaults to 00:00–23:59).
